Micro-Suction

The first step with any Ear Wax Removal procedure is to examine the inner ear or the 'ear canal'. This is to understand the severity of the blockage and to see the condition of the wax, whether it is soft or impacted (hard). This is carried out with a magnification tool.

Once the wax has been examined the removal specialist will then proceed to remove the wax. A small suction probe will be inserted into the ear that works in a similar way to a vacuum cleaner. There can be some noise associated with the procedure, however it is a quick and painless experience. To ensure the procedure goes as smoothly as possible it is crucial a wax softening spray ( such as 'Earol' ) is used for atleast 2 days before the removal including the morning of your appointment. The use of this spray will determine how successful your removal procedure is so be generous which the application of the oil and do not skip this step!
